Here’s a breakdown of what every Oleh Chadash (new immigrant) can receive and how to access these benefits once you arrive.
Financial Assistance (Sal Klita)
What it is:
A series of government payments to help you during your first months in Israel.
Includes:

Initial cash at the airport: Singles receive about ₪ 1,250, married couples ₪ 2,500, and single parents ₪ 2,300.

Six monthly payments deposited into your Israeli bank account.

Free Flight or Discounted Travel
If you made Aliyah through Nefesh B’Nefesh (U.S. & Canada)
or your local Jewish Agency, you may be eligible for:

A free or discounted Aliyah flight.

Extra luggage allowance.

Assistance at Ben Gurion Airport when you land.
What it is:
New olim are entitled to major tax exemptions and customs benefits on personal belongings brought to Israel — including furniture, electronics, and even one car.
Includes:

Duty-free import of up to three shipments of household goods within three years of Aliyah.

Tax-free purchase or import of one vehicle, subject to approval and specific conditions.

No customs tax or VAT on approved items meant for personal use.
Tip 2: Keep all receipts, shipping lists, and Aliyah paperwork. You’ll need. them to confirm eligibility when your shipment arrives in Israel.

Free SIM Card and Initial Setup Help
Upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, most new olim receive a free Israeli SIM card to help them stay connected from day one.
What to know:

Provided through Nefesh B’Nefesh (U.S. & Canada) or the Jewish Agency (other countries).

Includes a few days of free calls and data to help you get started.

Staff at the airport help you insert and activate the SIM right away.

You can later switch to any Israeli mobile provider or plan you prefer.
Tip: Make sure your phone is unlocked before flying — it’ll make the SIM setup instant and hassle-free.
Tax Benefits
Olim receive generous tax breaks, including:

10 years of exemption on income earned outside Israel.

Reduced customs and import taxes on shipping a lift (household goods).

Reduced car purchase tax (you can buy one new car at a discount).
Tip: Tax benefits begin from your date of Aliyah, so keep all paperwork and customs forms.
Housing Assistance
The Ministry of Aliyah and Integration offers:

Rent subsidies during your first year.

Access to absorption centers or temporary housing for those without immediate housing plans.

Ulpan: Free Hebrew Courses
Olim are entitled to free Hebrew language classes (Ulpan) through the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration.
You’ll get:

Up to 500–600 hours of lessons.

Classes for all levels — beginner to advanced.

Options for in-person or online learning.
Course Voucher: In addition to Ulpan, eligible olim can receive financial assistance (up to ~7,000 NIS) for professional, educational, or other approved courses.
